Ingredients For molasses sugar cookies

1 1/2 ccrisco (i use butter-flavored)

1/2 cfull-flavored or original molasses

2 csugar
-
4 cflour
-
2eggs, slightly beaten

4 tspbaking soda

1 1/2 tspcloves
-
4 tspcinnamon

2 tspginger
-
1 tspsalt
How To Make molasses sugar cookies

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt shortening and let cool. Stir in mosasses and eggs. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Dough is VERY stiff and won't want to cling together. Chill. Form into small 1 1/2" balls; roll in sugar. Place on cookie sheet. Do NOT FLATTEN them.

2Bake 10 - 14 minutes. Edges will be browned and the centers will be soft.

3The dough freezes well. When thawed, roll into balls as above and bake according to directions.
