mace sugar cookies
My original recipe makes a lovely sugar cookie that is perfumed with mace and that I add vanilla sugar to. Perfect all year round. Yield depends on the size that you make the cookies.

Ingredients For mace sugar cookies

1 csugar

1/2 cbutter, softened

1egg
-
1/4 cmilk (almond milk is very nice)

1/2 tsppure vanilla extract

2 1/4 call-purpose flour

2 tspbaking powder

1/2 tspground mace
-
vanilla sugar (optional)
How To Make mace sugar cookies

1Cream sugar and butter. Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Beat well.

2Stir together flour, baking powder, mace, and 1/2 teaspoon salt; blend into creamed mixture. Divide in half. Cover and chill 1 hour.

3Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

4On lightly floured surface, roll each half to 1/8-inch thickness, if dough is too soft to roll and cut nicely knead in more flour, a little at a time, until it's a good consistency. .

5Cut with any cookie cutters you wish. Sprinkle with vanilla sugar if using.

6Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at for 7 to 8 minutes.
