grandma's sugar cookies

This recipe was given to me by my husband's Grandma Collins. She had gotten it from her daughter-in-law's mother, Mrs. Wilson. They all lived in north central Missouri. It has been a favorite in all our families. Grandma used to put the cookies in a bread wrapper with a couple of slices of bread to keep them even more moist. (You can also cut the recipe in 1/2 for an easy after-dinner sweet for fewer people.) (Grandma lived to be 100!)
