One of my mom's "everyday" cookies. No special occasion needed, just a day when the Milk turned sour. (0: You may substitute margarine or butter for Crisco. You do not need to replace the nuts with anything if you take them out. This is how my mom usually made them as my sister was allergic to nuts... I had never had them with nuts until she made them with my daughter.

Ingredients For grandma pana's oatmeal drop cookies

1/2 csugar

1egg
-
1/2 tspsalt

6 Tbspcrisco shortening

2 Tbspsour milk
-
1 crolled oats
-
1 cflour
-
1/4 tspbaking soda
-
1 tspbaking powder
-
1/2 craisins
-
1/2 cchopped nuts (optional)
How To Make grandma pana's oatmeal drop cookies

1Beat egg with sugar and salt

2Add melted crisco, sour milk & oats, blending well

3sift & measure flour, then add baking soda & baking powder and sift together

4Add dry mixture to wet mixture & mix just 'til blended

5Stir in raisins and nuts

6Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet ( these days I use parchment paper instead of grease)

7Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for about 12 minutes ( we live at high altitude, so adjust baking time accordingly)
