My mom makes these cookies and snickerdoodle ones all the time for a dessert kind of thing.

Ingredients For gingersnaps

  • INGREDIENTS FOR RECIEPE
  • 1 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
    shortening
  • 1/4 c
    molasses
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • 2 1/4 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • granulated sugar

How To Make gingersnaps

    Heat oven to 375 Degrees
  • 2
    Beat Brown Sugar,Shortening,molasses and egg in large bowl with eletric mixer on medium speed,or mix with spoon.

    Stir in remaining ingredients except granulated

    Lightly grease cookie sheet with shortening or spray with cooking spray.

    Shape dough by round teaspoon sized balls.Dip into the granulated sugar.Place each ball with sugared side showing(top),about 3 inches apart on cookie sheets.

    Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.Then Immediately remove from cookie sheet to a wire rack until cool.
