  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1 pkg
    ( 4 oz ) german sweet chocolate, broken into squares
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2
    eggs beaten
  • 1 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • TOPPING;
  • 2 Tbsp
    melte butter
  • 1/2 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1 c
    flaked coconut
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pecans
  • 2 Tbsp
    corn syrup
  • 2 Tbsp
    milk

How To Make german chocolate brownies

    In a heavy saucepan melt butter and chocolate; stir until smooth Remove from heat, cool slightly, Stir in sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, mix well.

    Combine the flour , baking powder, and salt, add to chocolate mixture. Pour into a greased 9" squar baking pan. bake at 350 degrees for 18-22 minutes or until a tootpick comes out clean.

    For the topping , combine butter and brown sugar in a bowl, add the coconut, pecans, corn syrup, and milk and mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto warm brownies, spred evenly. Broil several inches from the heat for 2-4 minutes or until top is browned and bubbly. Cool on a wire rack, cut into bars.
