Another one of my treasured recipes from my Mother. She loved making these cookies to give away at Christmas and some people (including me!) came back for more!

vegetable shortening
1 c

sugar
2 c

light brown sugar

baking powder
1 1/2 tsp

baking soda
3 Tbsp

water
1 can

coconut
3 c

oatmeal, uncooked
1 1/2 c

pecans, in pieces

How To Make candy orange slice cookies

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream shortening and sugars together and add flour and baking powder. Dissolve the baking soda in the water and add to mixture.

Fold in coconut, oatmeal, pecans and orange slice candies.

Spoon out onto a greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
