Another heirloom recipe from my Aunt Alice. Her notes say: "Everybody loves this cookie. Very yummy. Looks fancy too." Once again I've posted the original drawing that accompanies her recipe.

Ingredients For aunt alice's lemon squares

1 cbutter, melted

2 cplus 4 tablespoons flour

1 scant cconfectioner's sugar

4eggs
-
2 cgranulated sugar
-
1 tspbaking powder
-
6 Tbsplemon juice
-
extra confectioner's sugar for garnish
How To Make aunt alice's lemon squares

1Combine butter, 2 cups flour and 1 cup confectioner's sugar.

2Pat into a buttered 9x13" pan and bake for 20 minutes in preheated 350°F oven.

3While crust is baking, beat together eggs, granulated sugar, baking powder, remaining flour and lemon juice.

4Pour over baked crust and bake 30-35 minutes more. Let cool, sprinkle with confectioner's sugar. Cut into squares.
