I have never seen these anywhere other then out of my family's kitchens. My Grandma, Grace Dukart, used to make them. They are awesome!

Ingredients For chocolate marshmallow cookies - my grandmas

  • 1/2 c
    shortening
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/2 c
    cocoa
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 3/4 c
    flour
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    baking sod
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1/2 can
    chopped pecans
  • 30
    large marshmallows cut in half

How To Make chocolate marshmallow cookies - my grandmas

  • 1
    Cream shortening well, add sugar, egg and beat well. Add flour, cocoa, soda, salt, vanilla and milk, mix until smooth. Then add nuts. Drop onto pan, bake 6-7 min at 350, remove place ½ marshmallow, on each cookie. Return to oven for 3 min. Cool and ice with powdered sugar icing. (we make icing red and green)
