My granddaughter loves to help make these. You can roll the apples in sprinkles or small candies, like mini-m & m's.

Ingredients For twice-dipped candy apples

    granny smith apples
  • 6
    6" wooden craft sticks
  • 50
    werther's original chewy caramels.
  • 2 Tbsp
    water or light cream. i use light cream
  • 1
    small bag semisweet chocolate chips
  • orange and green candy sprinkles

How To Make twice-dipped candy apples

    Line a baking sheet w/ non-stick foil, or spray foil w/ cooking spray. Wash,& dry apples. Remove stems from apples. Insert a craft stick into each apple.

    Place caramels and cream in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 2-2/12 mins, stirring every minute until caramels are melted and smooth.Holding apples by the stick, dip and swirl in caramel. Gently scrape bottoms to remove excess.

    Chill in refrigerator for 15 mins. While apples chill, microwave chocolate chips until melted. Stir until smooth. Dip a chilled apple into chocolate, then roll into sprinkles or mini candies. Refrigerate another 15 mins to set.
