Every Christmas, my Mom, Aunt Ruth, and I would make Christmas candy. This is one of my favorites! Even if you don't like dates, give it a try!

Ingredients For date loaf candy

2 c

sugar
1/4 c

butter
2 c

pecans, in pieces
1 c

evaporated milk
8 oz

package dates, chopped
sugar

How To Make date loaf candy

Dampen kitchen towel, and wring out. Sprinkle with sugar.

Combine sugar, butter and milk in heavy saucepan. Boil, stirring occasionally until hard boil stage is reached.

Remove from heat. Add dates and pecans, Beat until creamy. SETS UP FAST! Pour onto entire length of damp, sugared cloth . Roll into long log.

Cool completely. Slice to serve.
