Ingredients For spumoni cake

  • 1 1/2 c
    white sugar
  • 3/4 stick
    butter, melted
  • pinch
    salt
  • 5
    eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 11 oz
    evaporated milk
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 3 tsp
    baking piowder
  • 3 drops
    each green and red food coloring
  • 3/4 c
    walnuts chopped
  • small jar
    marschino cherries, cut up
  • 1 1/2
    chocolate, unsweetened squares

How To Make spumoni cake

    Combine sugar, butter and salt.Add beaten egg, vanilla, and milk.

    Sift flour, baking powder, and add to egg mixture.Blend well.

    Divide batter into 3 parts.In one part add walnuts and green food coloring. In 2nd part add cherries and red food coloring. In 3rd part add melted chocolate.Blend each batter well.

    Grease a 13x9 pan. Add green cake batter, then add red, and last add chocolate. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 - 40 minutes. FROST WITH FAVORITE FROSING. ( I FIND CREAM CHEESE FROSTING ESPECIALLY GOOD ON THIS CAKE.
