Got this recipe from a friend while stationed in Germany 2001. Very good and better with age.

Ingredients For spice cake

  • 2 c
    self rising flour
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    cooking oil
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1 tsp
    cloves
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 jar
    strained plums or peaches (small jars baby food)

How To Make spice cake

  • 1
    Mix oil, eggs, and sugar in large mixing bowl.

    Add baby food, spices and vanilla.
  • 3
    Add self rising flour and mix well.
  • 4
    Bake in prepared bunt pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean. Freezes well.
