Just a simple cake. My sister had this as a family tradition, she said never give this out it was special. Later in years she was diagnosed with cancer and before she died she told me she had something important to tell me. She said the Rum Cake recipe I gave you, well it is not a special one, I got it off the shelf at Safeway store so you can now share this recipe. It was a family tradition for years and it still is with me. Debbie my sister this one is for you.God Bless you.

Ingredients For rum cake

  • 1
    yellow cake mix
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1-6oz pkg
    pudding, pistachio
  • 1/2 c
    rum
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    oil

How To Make rum cake

  • 1
    Mix together first 6 ingredients; pour into well greased and floured bundt pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes. Ten minutes before cake is done, boil together last 4 ingredients for sauce. After cake is done, poke holes into cake while still in the pan; pour sauce over cake, put back in oven for 5 minutes. Invert cake on plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

    SAUCE RECIPE AS FOLLOWS;1 stick of butter, 1 cup of sugar.1/4 cup Rum,1/4 cup water. Cook for ten minutes then follow rest of recipe
