My mother's recipe. I let my nieces and nephews help me with this one when they are here. They love to help crush up all the cookies. I usually have the boxes of oreos on hand that have ten sleeves and use 3 of them for this recipe. Mom also used this recipe but putting it in small cups and added gummy worms to the top after finishing up a science unit.

Ingredients For kansas dirt cake

  • 1 lg pkg
    oreo cookies crushed
  • 1 stick
    butter, softened
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 1 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 3 c
    milk
  • 2 sm pkg
    instant vanilla pudding
  • 12 oz
    cool whip

How To Make kansas dirt cake

    In a 9x13in pan spread 1/2 of the crushed oreos. Set aside.

    Mix together the butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Set aside.

    In a seperate bowl whisk milk and pudding. Then mix in Cool Whip.

    Take cream cheese mixture that you set aside and pour in the pudding mixture and mix together.

    Pour this mixture on top of the oreos in the pan you set aside before.

    Take the other half of the oreos and spread on top of pudding mixture. Set flat in fridge for 2 hrs or until set.
