  Cover the bottom and top layers with fondant after applying a generous coat of white buttercream frosting to the layers. You can use boxed fondant, but I make my own marshmallow fondant and it is sooooo much better.

  Use colored fondant, square cutters, and letter/number shapes for the name/age. I purchased John Deere® figures and toys at Tractor Supply. To make the fence I just rolled and cut rectangles, and then dragged toothpick lines through fondant to make ridges.

  Use brown/green/yellow decorator icing for embellishments/grass. I used brown sugar on top of brown icing to create dirt/mud and pretzel sticks with brown icing for the logs.
