My Grandmother and Great Grandmother made this for years for family functions. It was always apple cake until my Grandmother moved into a house that had pear trees. It's fantastic with pears also.

How To Make grandma's apple or pear cake

Mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and oil. Beat eggs and add sugar. Mix with flour mixture. Add pecans, fruit and vanilla. Bake in a bundt or tube pan for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
