I forget where I got this recipe, but it has become a family favorite, also great to take to Family Reunion's and church pot lucks. It is moist and delicious and very easy too. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Ingredients For german chocolate cheesecake

  • box
    chocolate cake mix
  • 2 pkg
    8 oz. each cream cheese, softened
  • 4 lg
    eggs
  • 1-1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • FROSTING:
  • 1 c
    milnot, canned milk
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
    flaked coconut
  • 3 lg
    egg yolks
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • 1/2 c
    butter or margarine

How To Make german chocolate cheesecake

    Grease a 9x13 baking pan. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour half the batter into pan. Spread evenly. Reserve other half of batter.

    In separate bowl, whip cream cheese, eggs and sugar. our whipped mixture over batter in pan. Be sure to spread evenly. Then pour the reserved cake batter over the cream cheese mixture. Spread evenly over all.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 325* for 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 hours. Cool completely, then frost with frosting.

    FROSTING: Combine Milnot, sugar, egg yolks, butter or margarine, vanilla, coconut and nuts in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until it thickens. Cool. Spread over cooled cake. Keep cake refrigerated. Enjoy! Very moist and delicious!
