This cake is soo yummy and moist! I took this cake to a potluck at a "fancy" party about 45 years ago. The Gentlemen asked their wife to get the recipe!!, I was a little embarassed to tell them it was a "doctored" cake mix!!! but I did...Thus the name "Gentleman's Banana Cake" ENJOY!

Ingredients For gentlemen's banana cake

    bananas
  • 1 box
    yellow cake mix (not with pudding)
  • 1/2 c
    oil
  • 1 c
    water
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    walnut pieces
  • BANANA FROSTING
  • 2
    banana
  • 3 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 tsp
    lemon juice

How To Make gentlemen's banana cake

    Heat oven to 350 degrees, bake for 38-43 minutes.

    butter and flour a bundt pan
  • 3
    smash bananas in electric mixer. add 1 box of yellow cake mix & the directions according to the back of cake box, mix until creamy. add walnuts

    bake and then flip cake onto a plate. let cake cool

    FOR BANANA FROSTING mash bananas in mixer, add rest of ingredients, beat high speed until creamy. add little half and half to thin if needed

    cool cake completely, frost and sprinkle walnut pieces on top of cake. ENJOY! :)
