This cake is so mosit you can't just eat 1 piece you have to have another one.My family enjoy's this cake and great hit at pot luck's.I had this cake at a friend house. I just had to have the recipe.

Ingredients For fruit cocktail cake

  • 2 cups
    all purpose flour
  • 2tsp.
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp.
    salt
  • 11/2 cups
    white sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 13/4 cups
    fruit cocktail, in syrup(15oz can)
  • 2/3cup
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup
    walnut pieces
  • TOPPING
  • 1stick
    of margarine
  • 3/4 cup
    evaporated milk
  • 3/4cup
    white sugar
  • 1 tsp.
    vanilla extract
  • 1 cup
    coconut

How To Make fruit cocktail cake

    Mix the first five ingeredents, with hand, beat, than add fruit cocktail in juice to mix well.Pour into ungreased 9x12 pan,will be thick,make even with spoon in your pan.Sprinkle brown sugar and walnuts on top.Bake 40 to 45 minutes in a 300 degree oven.

    Topping: Cook the above five ingredents in a sauce pan until it is mixed well and is nice and hot.Large spoon pour over top of cake.(can put on cake hot out of oven)
