This is my mother's recipe. She always made it for holiday dinners. It is always a hit with family & friends. I get lots of requests to make this cake. Everyone says it stays so moist!!

1 coil

2 csugar

3 lgeggs

3 call purpose flour

1 tspsoda
-
1/4 tspsalt

1 tspcinnamon

1 tspnutmeg

1 tspvanilla extract

1 cfinely chopped nuts

3 cgrated apples
- GLAZE
-
1/2 csugar
-
1/4 tspsoda
-
1 1/2 tspvanilla

1/4 cbuttermilk

2 Tbspbutter
How To Make fresh apple cake

1Combine flour,salt,soda,cinnamon, & nutmeg. Set aside.

2Grate apples. Set aside.

3Combine oil & sugar. Beat well. Add eggs. Beat well.

4Add dry ingredients. Batter will be very thick. Add vanilla. Add pecans & apples.

5Pour batter into a 10 inch greased & floured tube pan. Bake at 350 for about 1 hr & 15 min.

6Poke holes all over cake with toothpick. Spoon hot glaze over hot cake. Cool and remove from pan.

7GLAZE: Combine all ingredients. Boil for 4 minutes stirring occ.
