Ingredients For lady bat's sunday breakfast cranberry-orange scones

  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2
    egg's
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    half and half
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 4 Tbsp
    "i cant believe it's not butter"
  • 1 c
    dried cranberries
  • 1 Tbsp
    orange extract
  • orange food color
  • GLAZE
  • 1/2 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    half and half
  • 1 tsp
    orange extract
  • orange food color

How To Make lady bat's sunday breakfast cranberry-orange scones

    Preheat oven to 415 degrees.

    In med size bowl, add flour,salt,sugar,baking powder and "butter" together. I like to use my bare hands and work the butter and dry ingredients together. 'Till the mixture has the texture of corn-meal.

    Add eggs',half & half, orange extract, dried cranberries and food color to flour & butter mixture. Mixture will be thick and doughy.

    On a cookie sheet, divide mixture, depending how big you like your scones, into 4 to six mounds.

    Cook for 15 minutes. Or until "dry toothpick test" is successful.

    While scones are in the oven: in a small bowl or ramekin, mix together powdered sugar, 1 Tbsp half & half, 1 tsp orange extract and orange food color.

    Once scones have been removed from oven, let cool on cookie sheet for about 2 minutes. Drizzle orange glaze over hot scones. Serve with butter and a nice cup of coffee or a cold glass of Milk!
