This is my great grandmothers recipe. I never got to meet her but my mother made these waffles every Thanksgiving Eve for dinner and every Christmas morning,( we had leftovers for breakfast on Thanksgiving morning). I have some great memories every time I make these for my family. I kept the same tradition for my family and my children know follow the tradition. My ggrandmother came from Scotland when she was 11 years old and lived in west Texas when she passed away at 79. She had 13 children. So I guess that is why this make so many waffles. please let me know if you like them.

You can keep this batter for 2 days after mixing, in a sealed bowl in the refrigerator. just fold gently until well mixed. I make mine up and put them in the freezer, then I can just put them in toaster or oven. Enjoy and please let me know how you like them
