My son is the banana lover in my house. He just loves when I make him this French Toast. I don't make it often enough to hear him tell it....LOL I hope you try it sometime. It really is good. Enjoy!

Ingredients For ~ nanner french toast ~

  • oil
    or butter for skillet - i use my cast iron griddle
  • 2 slice
    bread - i usually use italian sandwich bread
  • 1
    small - med banana
  • 2
    med eggs
  • sprinkle
    cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp
    each - heavy cream & milk
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • syrup
    choc chips, peanut butter chips, confectioners' sugar, pecans - all optional, this is just what i use

How To Make ~ nanner french toast ~

    Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Get skillet or griddle warming up over low to medium heat. Add some butter or oil, so not to stick.

    In a bowl, whisk egg, vanilla, milk & cream and cinnamon until thoroughly blended.

    Dip one slice of bread into egg mixture and make sure both sides are soaked with the mixture.

    Place the first slice in skillet and lengthwise, slice banana into 4 pieces and lay on that slice of bread, making sure its covered evenly with banana.

    Soak other slice of bread now and place on top of banana's.

    After about 3 - 4 minutes or until golden on the first side. Carefully flip to the other side and cook another 3 - 4 minutes.

    Place on a nonstick baking sheet and bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until inside is completely cooked.

    I then slice in half.

    Carefully lay on serving plate and add your favorite toppings. I added a handful of peanut butter chips, a few chocolate chips, pecans, warmed syrup and sprinkled with confectioners' sugar.
