I thought it sounded interesting and I have tried it and I thought it was pretty good for a breakfast item. I cut the salt down from 1 tsp to 1/2 in the recipe posted because I thought it was too salty.

Ingredients For famous guest house baked oatmeal recipe

  • 2 c
    oatmeal, regular or quick cooking
  • 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • WET INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp
    vegetable oil

How To Make famous guest house baked oatmeal recipe

    Mix wet ingredients together in a bowl.Combine dry & wet ingredients.Grease 8 inch square cake pan and pour batter into pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 25 minutes, or until set in the middle. Serve fresh out of the oven with warm milk/cream, fruit and drizzled honey. (We use bananas in Rwanda.) It can also be prepared the evening before and refrigerated overnight to bake in the morning.
