honey glazed cornbread

I never used to like cornbread because it was gritty and just not good. So i went on a mission to find a good one. This cornbread is so sweet and moist.The best cornbread I've ever had homemade!! This recipe can be doubled, and baked in a 9x13.

Ingredients For honey glazed cornbread

  • 1/2 c
    cornmeal
  • 1 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2/3 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/3 c
    vegetable oil
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 2 Tbsp
    honey
  • 2
    eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/4 c
    milk
  • GLAZE
  • 1/4 c
    honey
  • 1/4 c
    butter

How To Make honey glazed cornbread

    Preheat oven to 350. Grease 9x9 baking dish.

    Stir together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

    Pour in the oil, melted butter, honey, beaten eggs, and milk.

    Stir just enough to moisten.

    Pour into greased dish and bake 45 min. Test with toothpick.

    GLAZE...in a sauce pan, simmer 1/4 c butter and 1/4 c of honey together until combined. Pour over hot cornbread.
