I wish BEFORE people posted a recipe saying it's the genuine recipe from a certain company… they were honest! I posted this recipe because I had previously posted that I’m looking for an actual recipe either a photocopy or picture of LIBBY'S® Pumpkin Nut Bread on the label of canned pumpkin. The recipe can be found on the in side of LIBBY'S® Pumpkin can label in 1980-1990’s. Through the years, LIBBY'S® has altered the recipe.

Ingredients For del monte pumpkin bread

  • 3 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    salad oil
  • 1 can
    16-ounce can pumpkin
  • 1
    eggs, beaten
  • 3 1/2 c
    flour
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • 1 tsp
    freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 tsp
    allspice, ground
  • 1/2 tsp
    cloves, ground
  • 2/3 c
    water

How To Make del monte pumpkin bread

    Cream sugar and oil. Add eggs and pumpkin: mix well.

    Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, nutmeg, allspice cinnamon, and cloves. Add to the pumpkin mixture alternately with the water. Mix well after each addition.

    Pour into 2 well-greased and floured 9 x 5-inch loaf pans. Bake at 350ºF. for 11/2 hours, until loaves test done. Let stand 10 minutes. Remove from pans to cool. .
