buttery yeast rolls

I am slow to change to a new bread or roll recipe. I will always try new recipes, but I usually end up going back to my old recipe. Found this recipe on Food.com and it was posted by Donna M. I tried it and it immediately replaced the roll recipe that I had been using for the last nineteen years. My family and friends eat these rolls as fast as I can set them on the table. Thank goodness you make them in the ABM as I had to make six dozen of them for Thanksgiving AND then again for Christmas last year!

Ingredients For buttery yeast rolls

  • 1/2 c
    warm water
  • 1/2 c
    warm milk
  • 1 lg
    egg
  • 1/3 c
    butter, softened
  • 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 3 3/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp
    bread machine yeast

How To Make buttery yeast rolls

  • 1
Place all ingredients into bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer.
  • 2
Select the dough cycle and start machine.
  • 3
When the dough cycle has finished, turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead a few times to remove the air bubbles (sprinkle on more flour as needed to keep dough from sticking).
  • 4
Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with a baking spray containing flour (or grease and flour pan). Divide dough into 24 balls. Place rolls in pan and brush tops with melted butter if desired.
  • 5
Cover rolls lightly with wax paper and let them rise till they are double in size.
  • 6
While rolls finish rising preheat the oven to 375 degrees,
  • 7
Bake at 375 degrees F for 15 to 18 minutes (I bake for about 20 minutes as I like a little browner roll). Serve and enjoy.
