My great grandmother made the best buttermilk biscuits in the whole world. I asked my mom to showed me how to make homemade biscuits when I was younger. They are so delicious and moist. My family and I loves biscuits.

  • 2 c
    self rising flour
  • 1/4 c
    crisco shortening
  • 1 3/4 c
    buttermilk

How To Make lisa's homemade buttermilk biscuits

    Preheat oven to 500 F. Coat baking sheet with Crisco shortening. Measure flour into a large bowl. Cut in shortening with pastry blender and put shortening in flour. Put milk in flour mixuture and mix with your fingertips until well blended. Turn dough onto lightly floured on a waxpaper. Knead gently 2 or 3 times. Twist between your finger and thumb and roll like a ball and place on prepared baking sheet and flatten with your three fingers. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
