Ingredients For romantic dinner basket

  • for the shrimp cocktail sauce:
  • 1 can beer, 12 oz
  • 2 tbsp. shellfish seasoning
  • 12 to 18 jumbo shrimp
  • 1 cup catsup
  • 1 tbsp. horseradish
  • for the crab dip:
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup loosely packed chopped chives
  • 2 tsp. finely grated lemon peel
  • 1/2 tsp. frehly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. flaked snow or king crabmeat, 1 lb.
  • bottle of wine, towels, candles, crackers, matchsticks

How To Make romantic dinner basket

    Fill a large pan with water; add beer and shellfish seasoning. Bring to a boil. add shrimp. Cover and boil til shrimp are pink, 3 to 5 minutes.

    Drain shrimp, let cool and peel. Using a sharp knife, cut a lit along the back of each shrimp; remove dark vein. Chill shrimp in covered container.

    In small container, mix the ketchup and horseradish. cover and chill.

    In medium bowl, mix sour cream, mayonnaise, chives, lemon peel, lemon juice, garlic powder and salt. Mix well. Stir in crabmeat. Put the crab dip in a tightly sealed container. Refrigerate til ready to use.

    To assemble the basket, in the bottom of basket, arrange shrimp, cocktail sauce, and crab dip. Put a bottle of wine near the middle of the basket. Tuck a towel around the bottle. Add wine glasses, using the napkins to cushion them.

    Arrange breadsticks, crackers, candles, candlesticks and matches around the other items.
