Ingredients For simple southwest fruit salsa

  • 1 can
    (16 ounces) chunky mixed fruits or other canned fruits, drained and chopped
  • 1/2 c
    coarsely chopped red onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp
    (fresh or canned) seeded & chopped jalapeño pepper, or to taste

    Total Time: 15 mins. or up to 6 hrs refridgerate Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Let stand at room temperature at least 15 minutes, or refrigerate up to 6 hours before serving. Tip: Nearly any canned fruit can be used for this recipe. If you use peaches, pears, apricots or pineapples, simply dice the fruit for the salsa. Fruit packed in heavy syrup, lite syrup or juice all work great, but each type will influence the sweetness of your salsa. Also, try combining your favorite varieties of canned fruit.
