Ingredients For maple brie and apples

  • 8 oz
    brie cheese, round
  • 3 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    pure maple syrup
  • 3 Tbsp
    brandy or rum
  • 1/4 c
    chopped walnuts; toasted
  • 3 Tbsp
    melted, unsalted butter,
  • 2 Tbsp
    cinnamon-sugar for sprinkling

    apples; cored and thinly sliced

How To Make maple brie and apples

    Preheat oven to 350F. Core and thinly slice the 2 apples. Set aside for later use.

    Place brie in a ceramic "brie-baker" or ovenproof container. Bake for about 15 mins. or until warm and soft, but not runny.

    THE SAUCE: In a small saucepan, stir together brown sugar, maple syrup and brandy or rum. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve brown sugar. Reduce heat under saucepan and simmer uncovered, about 5 mins until slightly thickened.

    Stir in chopped walnuts. Remove from heat, set aside and keep warm.

    THE BAGUETTE: Cut baguette into 20 X 1/2 inch thick slices. Brush one side of each slice with melted butter; sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Increase oven temperature to 425F. Arrange prepared baguette slices on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 6 - 8 minutes, or until slices are crisp and browned lightly. Remove from oven and arrange on your serving platter.
