This recipe came to me by way of one of my Dad's employees who made the best party egg rolls I've ever eaten. She made them for every employee party we had.

Ingredients For party egg rolls

  • 1/2 lb
    cooked salad shrimp, diced
  • 1/2 lb
    gorund pork sausage, browned
  • 1 c
    finely chopped celery
  • 1/2 c
    coarsley chopped water chestnuts
  • 1/2 c
    chopped, fresh green onions
  • 2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    sugar
  • 1/8 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/8 tsp
    dark oriental seasoning
  • 1 1/4 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1 lg
    egg, well beaten
  • 1 Tbsp
    smooth peanut butter
  • 2 pinch
    small square egg roll wrapers
  • peanut oil, for frying

How To Make party egg rolls

  • 1
    Preheat a deep fryer or Dutch oven with peanut oil to 360 degrees.

    Working with your hands, mix shrimp, pork, celery, water chestnuts, green onion, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, oriental seasoning, butter and egg, in a glass bowl. Mix in peanut butter last.

    Roll 1 tablespoon mixture into egg roll wrappers and seal with water.

    Fry in oil till golden brown. do not crowd the fryer because it will lower the temperature of the oil and egg rolls will be greasy.
