This is truly one of the best cakes I have ever eaten. At times I do add toasted coconut to the recipe.....adds to the cake but is simply delicious without the addition. Moist and yummy! And so easy!!!

Just hook up computer to printer- or if you have a wireless one (which I have & was SO WORTH $110),just hit "print" & it will come out without even getting up.

@jeannine. Sounds delicious! Some other members have added coconut also. I really like your idea of Cool Whip on top as the cream cheese frosting is really rich and I often like something a bit lighter.

Hi i tried this recipe and changed it up just a bit by adding a little coconut to the mix then sprinkling some on the top before cooking it, then when it was cool i spread coolwhip on top and maraschino cherries on top, great summer desert. thanks for the recipe

They are the nuts, although youcan add any dried fruits with it if you like. The original recipe is as listed and is very rich without anything else. Hope you enjoy it!
