Had To Have A Piece Soon After It Came Out Of The Oven While It Was Still Warm. This Is So Good!!! Before I Put It In The Fridge, I Had Two More Pieces. This Is So Good That I Could Just Eat It Right Out Of The Pie Plate In One Sitting. But I Didn't.

This Was My First Attempt At This Pie (ended Up Making Two At The Same Time) - I Accidentally Put Double The Amount Of Butter In, So I Made Another. I Baked It Anyway.it Wasn't As Custardy, more Creamy, was Delicious And The Crust Was Better Esp Once Cold

This Was My Second Attempt - Same Day - At Making This Pie. This Is Fresh Out Of The Oven. I Know It Doesn't Look Very Browned, But The Knife Came Out Clean And It Was Very Good!

This was very good! Like others, I used butter. Since it was salted butter, I omitted the pinch of salt. I didn't have milk, so I used one cup half and half, and one cup vanilla unsweetened almond milk. I didn't have white sugar, so I used brown, and a little real bourbon vanilla, I didn't detect bourbon flavor in the end result though. I sprinkled nutmeg on top as written. I didn't have a pie pan, so I used a 8x8 Corelle square pan. I blended as written, and baked as written, it didn't overflow. Mine didn't look like the picture, because I didn't use a pie crust, but it does make a kind of crust along all sides. I feel it's more like bread pudding with a custard like flavor rather than a proper custard. I put just a little pure maple syrup across the top, but I think a vanilla sauce with this would be incredible. It stands alone well though, or some berries on top would make a nice presentation when serving.

This looks sooo good I am making this in the morning! Quick question, I know it calls for a 9 inch pie plate but is it a regular one or a deep dish? I love this kind of pie and last time I made a coconut custard pie and it ended up all over the bottom of my oven.

I have made this before and it was just like my great grandmother's. I just threw a banana in the blender with it this time. Keep your fingers crossed. I can't imagine it will turn out bad.....everything is better with bananas!

My dad loved custard pie and we made buttermilk custard pies, also. Hmmmm......I wonder if lowfat buttermilk would work? I will try this as soon as I buy a pie pan of some sort. I only have a bent up pan from Bakers Square and I want something that looks good when I present this masterpiece. It looks delish! I'll add a little vanilla extract and a little more nutmeg.

mine came out looking pretty close to the picture. i used reduced fat i can't believe it's not butter, skim milk, only the whites of the eggs, and splenda. it was beautiful, and delicious. i'm gonna make it again with fat free evapoated milk to see if i can make it even richer, yet still healthy for the holidays.

Wow! That looks so yummy! So who was the first person created the custard pie anyway? Because,I do remember, when I was 7 until 8 in the year 1980's I used to love this peace of custard pie that we used to buy from nearby Bakery. We called this EGGPIE.
