So glad everyone liked them Kookas. I think they have just the right amount of sweet.

Hi CookieQueen, well - we had a sumptuous bbq today and out of my 5 kids, had to share that aside from it being a real winner and NOT being anywhere as sweet as store bough.... our 2yr old couldn't get enough!, Truth be told, she has had store bought beetroot before and wasn't interested in it. So, again.... many thanks for such a wonderful recipe - thumbs-up from all my kids, esp the 2yr old.

Thanks CookieQueen I interpreted the instructions differently but on my next round will certainly cut less off. Thanks for the pointer, its much appreciated as a newbie to the whole canning sphere :-D ... I'll be intrigued to see their color when I crack open a jar for our next barby!

Great job Kookas! On your raw beets, maybe next time, leave a little longer stem if possible, while cooking the first time. It's supposed to keep them from bleeding so much, so they don't loose their color before you peel them. Great job though.
