I started cooking when I was 5 years old, standing on a chair, cooking swedish meatballs in an electric skillet on the countertop. By age 8 I moved on to making after-school hamburgers for myself (I was a latchkey-kid) and casseroles for my family when they came home for dinner. My older sisters taught me all kinds of wonderful dishes. By age 12 I was cooking dinner for our family on a regular basis. At age 15 1/2 I had my first part-time restaurant job (dishwasher & prep chef). Now,I'm not a pro chef but I do pretty good for a home cook & baker. I've done a LOT of baking for friends & family.
