I received some info in an email about tomatoes and wanted to share:
If the turning of the seasons has left your tomato plants heavy with hard, green fruit, don't toss it in the compost bin. Green tomatoes can be ripened. Wrap each one in newspaper, place them in a covered box, and store somewhere cool and dark.
We are still having hot weather here in Pasadena,but supposed to cool down in the next few days,I may need to try this idea,I still have alot of very green tomatoes on the vine.
There is so much you can do with a tomato. I once had a recipe(which I lost) made with tomatoes, bacon and salt crackers.like a casserole but I forgot the amounts and if there was anything else in it. Does anyone know it? if so could you send it to email@example.com thanks
