I would like to form a group for those of us that have had gastric bypass surgery. I had mine just over 8 years ago. From my lowest weight 2 years after surgery I have slowly gained about 25-30 pounds. I would love to do it all over again but feel with the right foods, I can get those extra pounds back off to feel my best and make my surgery a success. We all know it's not easy so help me out. Please post any recipes that helped you along the way and habits you have formed to keep you successful! Thanks!

Gastric Sleeve

I had Sleeve on July 22, 2015 and I have been struggling with getting my protein in. I so need breakfast ideas and easy things to make. I have lost 62 lbs since my surgery and that has helped me to get around better, but I still have some struggles, like back pain if I stand for to long. I can stand longer than I used to. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Just had a gastric sleeve done in December 2014, Would I qualify for this group? I didn't know since it said Gastric-bypass if you were including the sleeve also.

New to the Group

Hello all I haven't had my gastric sleeve yet but I'm so close. Just 1500.00 bucks away and can't for the life of me get the money raised or donated but I left that with the lord. Anyways, I have managed to lose almost 300 pounds in 3 years on my way to my surgery. I have alot of info. of tips and tricks and I also have some gastric surgery friendly recipes of great southern comfort foods I have grown up eating!

Hi everyone! I love JAP & I was looking at the different groups and I saw this one. I had my sleeve done on 10/9 & am struggling to find things that I can eat other than cottage cheese. I started the process this past April through the hospital here and have lost a total of 60 lbs, about 35 of it since the surgery. I am still having issues with swallowing anything, including water, but I want to find new recipes that my kids will actually eat so that I can help them to learn the right foods to eat now while they're young.

Hi I had lap band a little more than a year ago. They (clinic where I go for my fills) say I am doing well, but I wish it was faster. I have lost right at 100 lbs and still want/need to lost 50-75 more. Yes I know I did not gain it over night so can't expect to loose it over night. I am trying so hard to change my thinking about food but it is so hard because I love to cook! With my last fill 2 months ago I can only eat about 1/4 cup of food at one time. So most of my food that I can eat is about 3 to 5 bites. There are certain foods that I just can't tolerate, but now and then I still try and see if I can eat them. Bread is one that does me in every time, I do so love bread. Most of the starches I can't handle but I still like my desserts at night. I have learned that 2 bites is enough to keep me happy. I look forward to trying new recipes from this group and for chatting with others.

Hi, I had my surgery 8 yrs ago and lost 125 lbs and have kept it off, but I need small serving recipes because I hate to cook, due to everything being for large servings or crowds. Can anyone help?
