Fundraisers - How do you do it?

My sister was recently diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia, so I'm in the process of fundraising for my participation in a walking half-marathon in Portland, OR on 10-9-11. This prompted me wonder about the experiences of our members when they've raised money - for school groups, club trips, cancer, heart disease, or other research efforts, kids' charities, and everything else you can think of. What did you do - food-related or not? What tips do you have for us folks who want to run a food-related other type of fundraiser but don't have a clue where to start? Are you in the midst of a fundraiser now that you think we might be interested in supporting? Then come in here and share your experience and your current fundraisers with us!

Bake Sales

Bake sales are the obvious idea for a food-related fundraiser! Share your best-seller recipes in this discussion.

I'm planning to use the Oreo Cookies recipe that I just attached to this group for my barbershop chorus's upcoming annual fundraising concert in June. We give you a great show, and all the home-made desserts you can eat for $20! Whoo-hooo!

Thanks go Angie Merchant for the great recipe idea! I'll follow up in June with a report on the dessert buffet, and the success of this particular entry.
