I am always looking for alternative ways to get protein without eating a lot of meat.
My husband and I have reduced our meat intake by half in a year.
We both love meat but as you get older the health problems associated with high fat meats take its toll.
Also we found it a lot easier on our bank account!!
This group is for any dish cooked without meat and I look forward to getting them all in one place!!

Good morning! I never even knew this group was here.

I'm happy to have run across this place this morning. I am not quite a vegetarian but I don't eat much meat and would love to have some recipes to get a little more protein in my diet without the meat.

Looking forward to browsing around here.

Have a great day everyone. I hope more of my friends will join in and share some Meatless Main Dishes that have a protein impact.

New to this group!

I am hoping to eat less meat, especially red meat. Just learned my husband's kidneys are failing and currently functioning at a 24% level. Hoping to find healthier recipes here...anyone have any special ones using cranberries? What about your favorite green salad recipes. I know I can do a search, but recipes seem more personal when someone recommends them! Thanks!

Tried something new...

Yesterday, for the first time, I made dinner using fresh artichoke. May not seem much of an achievement to some, but I usually get my artichoke from a jar or can. I mean, have you ever looked at a fresh artichoke?? They're weird, and what do you do with them?? So I found a recipe I wanted to try Artichoke with Baked Brie Sauce and I made it for dinner last night!! Directions were helpful and they turned out beautifully! (see pic below) After I took pictures and we sat down to eat, my husband and I just started laughing. Neither one of us knew how to eat a fresh artichoke!! LOL! No one ever thinks those instructions may be needed in a recipe! Don't know if we ate it "properly" but it was good!

I am so sorry...

...that i am not in here with you all.

It is extremely busy in my life right now and the computer is the last thing on my mind!!
My business has taken off to new heights, the market is open which i am now on the board and with expanding our food garden this year and getting a part time job AND driving spare for a school bus company....I am over whelmed!!

I am traveling to Toronto on July 13th to celebrate my 60th birthday with my kids who have a big day planned for me so i am so looking forward to that and getting a break!!

My hubby is staying back and running the business at the market so we'll celebrate before i go.

I hope to drop in once in awhile to say hello. Keep posting all the great recipes and have a wonderful summer! God bless you all!!
