CANCER VICTIM SUPPORT GROUP

Hosted by Craig Clark
Group active since Wed, Mar 09, 2011

This group is intended to focus on those who are currently going through Chemo/Radiation treatments as well as those who have already completed their journey. There are also many folks out there who know someone; friend or family who are going through this and this is a place for you to come with questions as well as to vent your feelings. Some are also dealing with the loss of a loved one; you too are welcome here to share and seek support.

Please post any feel good recipes you may have that may be tolerable for someone going through this process. I have a couple of cookbooks devoted to just that and I will share some of my favorites as well.

Our mission: this is a place to vent, laugh, share, & learn. Each one of us will experience this journey differently. We all need your prayers, but we also need your humor, and up beat motivation to fight, as well as any information you may have. Each one of us is an important part of this world. Weather you have cancer, have survived cancer, know someone going through it, or have experienced the loss of someone to it, tell us your story.

Personally, I was diagnosed in January with stage III-B advanced Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I’m 43 years old and I intend to live a long time. This is going to be a fight for me, but I know I can do it. I’m not afraid of what is to come because I’m informed. I don’t have all the answers, no one does. However if I can help you find the answer I will personally do my best to give you the information I have, or get you to someone who does have the answer.

Cancer is back.

Most of you that know me, know I have been fighting cancer for five n years now. Back then they told me thst I had three months to live. Well here I am asking for prayers again. Three years ago the doctors st Johns Hopkins in Baltimore removed 3/4 of my liver on the right side. Went a year and one hslf cancer free when it was found the cancer returned on the left side of my liver. Right now I have four tumors on my liver and one outside of my liver. That makes five tumors at stage four. All thid after removing 12 inches of my colon wherebthe cancer started. Just able to n live each days as they come with much weakness, shortness of breath and getting very tired easily. I have so many friends here on JAP & FB placing me on prayer list all n over the bfn world. God is good andbi am in his hands.

Hello everyone, it's been a long time. I've been working and not been able to connect with any of you. Hello to all the new members and to all the past members, thank you for keeping up and helping one another.

I don't get to be here much with the house and work it has been keeping me so busy, but I will be making an effort to get on here at least once a week. I hope everyone is doing well.

Talk to you soon,

Craig

Hi New Here

Hello everyone, My husband was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. He has a tumour in his left lung which is 7 cm wide. They were going to operate, but found it had spread to some lymph nodes, so they said they would have to take out too much of his lung, so are going to do chemo and radiation. Jim seems to think (or pretends to) that they can make it go away fairly easily. The doctors say he is in stage 2 or 3, we will find out more on the next appointment. I have read that stage 3 has a 14 percent 5 year survival rate, which I have not told Jim. Can anyone give advice or tell us what to expect?

Update on my granddaughter, Grace

Hey there everyone. I know that many of you have prayed for my granddaughter, Grace, who has ALL (acute lymphocytic leukemia). Here is a picture of her from yesterday, receiving a chemo treatment. My daughter reports that she did very well during her treatment yesterday and she feels pretty good. She's getting ready to go to Disney World soon, thanks to the Make a Wish Foundation, so she's pretty excited. Thanks so much for the prayers!

My husband started radiation and chemo yesterday

Hello all,
Thank you, Mr. Bobby for inviting me to this group, as my dear husband of 38 years has started treatment (radiation and chemo) for a virulent Squamous Cell cancer. The scalp transplant he had didn't slow it down a bit. He'll be going to the treatments 5 days a week for 6 weeks. This is only the second day and he already won't eat. He usually LOVES to eat and I am a mighty fine cook that has kept him healthy and happy all these years, so I don't know what to do about this. Suggestions, please.
