Good day JAP friends, I would like to start a new group entitled, "Just Cakes" and suggest you post any type of cake you would like whether it be from scratch or mix. Let's see how many varities we can come up with and especially with Valentine's Day and St. Pat's Day coming soon.

I see so much oil added to some bundt cake recipes and it makes me sick to my stomach thinking of all that oil. I love to bake with sweet butter so do any of you have any bundt cake recipes without a ton of oil. I do not object...

I love to Bake cakes, and frost them, but my short fall comes in not knowing how to decorate them. I would love to learn, but have never persued the classes offered at any of the craft stores. Any tips on which ones would be best to take a class....

Sometimes you need to make fondant decorations that dry harder. If you have a jar of tylose powder just a pinch of tylose powder kneaded into your fondant can give it a drying quality similar to gumpaste. This is a great thing when you need to make flowers, or anything...

This is a well known trick, but perhaps someone could use this info.... To get a finish on a buttercream cake to look like fondant, first you need to use a good crusting buttercream icing recipe. After Icing is semi crusted take a viva paper towel and lay the smooth...
