Have a recipe that is a good starting base, but just needs some tweaks to make it better? Hopefully this group can help!

Beef Stew

I got this recipe out of a cookbook magazine. I made it for lunch one time and unfortunately, it didn't really have any flavor to it. :( I like the ingredients listed, but I'm just wanting to get some ideas of how I can make this have more flavor. I did marinate the meat in dressing for 30 minutes like the recipe said.

3/4 C Italian Dressing
2 lb beef chuck roast, cut into 1 inch cubes
6 slices bacon, chopped
3 C sliced mushrooms
1 C chopped onions
3 C sliced carrots
1 1/2 lb potatoes, peeled and cut into large cubes
1-14 1/2 oz can stewed tomatoes
1-14 1/2oz can beef broth

Breakfast Casserole

There is a casserole I make Christmas morning. It's pretty good, but can probably taste a whole lot better. I use Jimmy Dean's sage sausage, 12 eggs, cream of mushroom soup, evaporated milk, mushrooms, tater tots, and cheddar cheese. Any ideas of what I can do? I hate it when a couple people put ketchup over it. LOL. That tells me it can probably taste better.

1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 red bell peppers, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1/2 C green onions, chopped
