We all need to watch our diet from time to time. I am welcoming only low fat, low carb, or reduced calorie dishes to be posted on this page.

Low-carb diet

Low-carb diet!
I have been on a low-carb diet for about a month now. I have Been taking all kinds of vitamin so that I don't miss out on nutrients. I have been drinking almost a gallon of water a day.

Yesterday, didn't feel so well. So, I decide to have a little bit of carbs. I had just a half of a pita. This morning my stomach is growling and I don't feel so well. I feel like my body is rejecting the grains now!

It's baby steps right? Not eating (trying) the best but drinking my water. My cucumber strawberry water. Taste best on second day. I have two water jugs to alternate

Hasn't been a lot of activity here lately...

I propose we all join together to post some healthy low fat menu ideas. I'm sure we all gained a few extra pounds during the holidays. I came in here to look for low cal recipes and thought - Woah...where is everybody.

Low calorie nonalcohol cocktails

Sparkling Pomegranate Punch
Your guests will love this delicious drink that packs a flavorful punch thanks to tangy pomegranate juice.

2 1/2 cups seltzer
2 cups pomegranate juice
Lemon, for garnish

Servings: 4

1. Combine juice and seltzer in large bowl or pitcher.
2. Serve over ice
3. Garnish with lemon

Hot Toddy
There’s no better way to kick off the cold holiday season than with this warm, soothing drink.

7 oz. hot black tea
1 tablespoon sugar-free honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Cinnamon stick, for garnish

1. Pour honey, lemon juice and spices into large mug.
2. Top with hot tea and stir.
3. Garnish with cinnamon stick, if desired.

Grapefruit Mock-Mosa
Get your festivities off to a sparkling start with this tasty treat featuring orange, grapefruit and lime juice.

3/4 cup fresh orange juice
1/2 cup fresh grapefruit juice
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon sugar-free honey
1 12 – ounce bottle sparkling water, chilled
Long, thin strips of orange peel, grapefruit peel and/or lime peel, curled for garnish (optional)

Servings: 3

1. Combine orange juice, grapefruit juice, lime juice and honey and stir until honey is dissolved. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours to blend flavors.
2. Pour juice mixture into four glasses then stir in sparkling water.
3. Garnish with citrus peel strips

Cran-Raz Spritzer
This booze-free beverage doesn’t just look delicious, it tastes that way, too!

Servings: 4

2 cups cranberry cocktail juice
2 cups seltzer
2 tablespoons lime juice
8 frozen raspberries, for garnish

1. Combine cranberry juice, seltzer and lime juice in a large pitcher.
2. Add ice to 4 glasses and divide mixture among each.
3. Add 2 frozen raspberries to each glass for garnish, if desired.

Skinny Bloody Mary
This guilt-free take on a cocktail classic serves up all the flavor you love!

2 cups no salt added tomato juice or low-sodium vegetable juice
2 tablespoons lime or lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon prepared horseradish
Few drops bottled hot pepper sauce

Servings: 4

1. Mix all juices, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish and hot pepper sauce.
2. Pour mixture over ice in glasses.
3. Garnish with celery, if desired.

Healthy liver. I need low, low fat recipes pronto.

I was just diagnosed with NASH-nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, which is to say I have non alcoholic fatty liver disease. They don't know HOW I have this. People that get it are usually obese, or have high triglyerides, high cholesterol levels, or are diabetic, or eat a high fat, high sugar diet. It can also be caused by medications and environmental properties.

I am none of them, except my anti-seizure meds CAN cause liver damage in the long run. But they don't think my liver would be as bad as it is with just the meds as a reason. So, we're all quite confused. The down low is I am now on a 40 gram of fat allowed diet. That includes good fat like advocado, nuts, seeds, etc. I usually eat a bowl of healthy cereal w/ almond milk, unsweeetened, then I have a sandwich later, made with a very low fat pita bread pocket. I put in it: Lean slices of turkey, 1 slice reduced fat swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and 1 tbsp lite miracle whip. Then later, a salad with 3 oz chicken breat strips, veggies and fat free dressing. I also have a lot of fruit. I have cut back on cream in my coffee, ice cream, italian subs, fatty sauces, etc. But, I'm not losing any weight yet, and they said the only way they have proof to stop and possibly reverse this disease is to lose a significant amt of weight. In my case they're saying 50 lbs. That would put me at 130 lbs. I do have low fat recipes, but most are made with some kind of sauce or beans or nuts or seeds, etc. I need serious help here folks!! I truly want and need some low fat recipes that taste GOOD too. Impossible?? Please tell me no, lol. So, if any of you can be of help, please let me know.If this disease isn't stopped, the outcome isn't good at all. They're saying, eventually it will totally ruin my liver and that a liver transplant will be the only way to survive. I'm only 51 and I would like to live a bit longer, God permitting!! Thanks for any help you can give me, in advance:-)
