Time for the Grill

Good morning from Santa Barbara. Three days off and my BBQ and smoker are ready for work. Can't wait. I'm definitely going to be making my smoked baby-backed ribs this weekend. This recipe called for smoking but I've gotten similar results in by Weber and in the oven using the same times and temps. Always comes out great. Grab your favorite beverage(s), sit back and have a great BBQ weekend. Have fun and take a minute to remember why we have this long weekend.

Beer Can Chicken

I've made beer can chicken, but I can taste beer( I don't drink beer and don't enjoy the flavor) I loved how moist the chicken was though, any ideas other than beer for moistness and flavor? I tried V-8 juice but no flavor.
Noone else tasted beer, just me so I continue to make it for the family,I just don't care for it.

Got my Butt in the smoker!

Got up at 5 this morning to get the 10 pound pork butt started in the smoker (traeger), rubbed it with KC pork rub and using hickory pellets. Only 9 more hours to go! I hope this turns out good or I will be ticked.

Grilling for dinner

The clouds are pretty dark outside and my husband has not made it home yet..I have 2 big ol T-Bone steaks ready to put on the grill as soon as I see he has pulled into the driveway.
Got the mushrooms and butter in the frying pan, ready to turn on and the salad is ready to toss..
I am sure getting hungry..
I was going to have french bread, but too much food already for just the 2 of us.
I am watching the news and back east is getting hammered again with all the flooding.
I feel really bad for them..Just nothing a person can do against mother nature..Just thanking my lucky stars that all is well here so far.
