When I was an adolescent sometimes my grandmother or aunt would just throw left overs from the fridge together to make a dinner (haste not waste) and it always tasted excellent. Add your creativity to this group by taking inventory of your refrigerator and using your left overs to create an Excellent Experimentation; post it and share it. Open the fridge; you never know what you may find for leftovers that will make a great meal. (Haste not waste) Who knows your leftovers might make it to a blue ribbon; that's what I'm shooting for.
Just joined the group and looks like it will be an interesting one. Hope to find some great recipes, enjoy easy and quick ones, as I don't cook as much as I used to. Raised 5 children, 4 boys and a girl, so was always looking for meals that would stretch...always kept my pantry and freezer full so I had things at hand. Now it is just 2 of us and it is hard to find things that taste good anymore.
I love having something always on hand to whip up a good meal without going to the store. My mothers favorite "go to pantry meal" was Tuna Casserole, made with canned tuna, pasta, peas, and cream of chicken soup.
What are some of your favorite meals for which you always keep the ingredients in your pantry or freezer? Here's mine.
sauce and pasta (pantry)
cheese (the stuff in the green can) Beef-A-Roni
