Humanist / Agnostic / Athiest

Hosted by Melissa Baldan
Group active since Wed, Nov 21, 2012

I'm Melissa and I am a Humanist. I am a cook. I am a mother, wife, sister, daughter. I care about the environment and the people on earth.

The name of the group pretty much says it all. There aren't any groups for us non religious types except the one other I created.

Let's share in the food and fun!

Hey guys

I wanted to quickly get input.

When I started this group I was active and tried to get interest. I posted often, but noticed I seemed to be the only one.
Recently I because busy with competitions and my son's acting so I was unable to post often. There was a flurry of activity and people questioning me and my dedication to the group...But when I posted a Topic of the Day nobody responded.
I don't know what you guys want from me, but if you want to be active in the group...please do so. You don't need my permission. If you don't want to, then please don't blame me when nothing is happening...

Topic of the day...
How much of the scriptures have you read?

I've read the entire Torah, the entire Bible, some of the Jehovah's Witness Bible and a few scriptures from the Mormon Bible (Book of Mormon). But nothing else.
These readings and the subsequent study of historical findings to solidify my Christian faith actually was the demise of that faith. it was impossible for me to continue believing something that was so obviously not real.

The parallels between Jesus and Horus, alone, should be enough to send any believer back to reality. I guess stupidity is easier than learning new things.

Why do all these religious fruitcakes have to squeeze their imaginary friends into almost every other group?

This group, I am very happy to say, is one of the few groups on here that isn't tainted with references to the imaginary ones! This is like a retreat from the madness here!

Why do these 'god fearing' [sic] fools feel the need to rub our noses in their imaginary world of nonsense?

It really pisses me off! S'cuse the language but just spent ages looking at groups to join and the feckers are everywhere!

If one must have Faith to follow god's laws...And their fair is 'good'. And, having faith is above all else...Then why is Manson considered crazy and other religious people are not?
Personally, I find most people who follow religion crazy on some level. I love them, but just roll my eyes all the time at the blind ignorance.

So, what makes them different from Manson?

Hypocrites "...But don't just pick and choose what parts you're going to obey..."

I read this article and actually became sick to my stomach.
I am outraged that anyone would think that an atheist can't do just as good of a job holding office. And, I am outraged at some of these comments! Please read this and share your thoughts!

Hi Everyone!

So, I know many of you are asking if the group is current. I am still a member of JAP. However, I am busy with my cooking ventures and my son's acting.
Anytime you guys would like to start posting discussions...Feel free! If you see something wonky, just shoot me a message and I can address it.
I came across an interesting article and wanted to share it with you guys. Let's get some discussion going here!

Take a look at that article and let me know what you think!

Hello, I am new here...

I have been on JAP for a while now but never joined a group because i couldn't find one that suited my beliefs. I was told to search for Atheist groups and see what I could find and you popped up. I hope you accept me into your circle... I am a liberal, feminist atheist with some recipes to share! I don't have much family here but a bunch of adopted teens running in and out of my house, eating up my pickles and just hanging out in a non-judgemental, stress free zone with a few hard and fast rules that are respected and obeyed, much to my delight. I look forward to hearing from you!
Patt Lisenbee, as Tabiwitch, I think... I need to change that, lol...

My Ferret Mowgli

I have to take him to the vet today. He is elderly and has now lost any movement in his back legs. I have to have him put down and I am not super stoked about it.
