As a keen camper/ hunter end up in such situations often.
Have found most stove top meals can be cooked on a camp fire but often weight is the main issue on ingredients and our local native bush has very little in the way or eatable plants for vit c etc. Did 7 weeks straight one summer including xmas day camping one year with only fire to cook on. Yes xmas is in summer here.
Have found packet rice rissoto to be a great over a campfire n military "rat packs" dehydrated meals to be interesting at times with a few additions ie supplejack shoots.
Also seafood pasta mix with added koura ( yabbies/ fresh water crayfish ) or trout.
Not much beats fresh wild pork "back steaks" n onions straight into a hot pan. Split skin along back bone and strip them out and hang over night, cook the following morning.
