I am so upset. I have made this recipe for the last 30 some years and the last 3 times I have made it, the mixture doesn't firm up it is like SOUP!!
The recepi calls for 8 oz cream cheese ( I always use Philadelphia Cream)
1 14 oz Eagle Brand Sweatened CONDENSE MILK, 1/3 cup lemon juice, 1 tsp vanilla extract and I make my graham cracker crumb pie shell.
Do any of you have any ideas why this is happening? Could it be that the cheese is a different consistancy than the original one? I use the regular one, not the less fat one. Please, help, I really would appreciate what you think. thanks Liz
I have been cooking for 56 years. My Grandma Miller had me stand on a chair in her kitchen back in the 50's when I was 6 years old. And it started a love of having my fingers getting messy and making something people would love to eat. My favorite type of cooking is baking. Love to make breads of all kinds and noodles. And I have made up my own recipes. I too have 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Would love to start my own business, but during these economic times I don't think it would be wise for me to do so.
